By the way, none of these books are actually clickable. I am not savy enough yet with this technology to actually be able to make the pictures a link, hopefully soon. Sorry if this is an inconvenience.

This is a list of books that I have read on my kindle app recently. Each book will show a short summary and my opinion. I will also rate it. I am hoping this list will encourage others to go find their books on Amazon.com.  I am hoping to help other writers by posting this blog, because word of mouth sometimes is the best promotion some authors have. I have also changed my rating system. I will no longer be rating with stars. I will be using apples. So if you agree or disagree with one of my book rating send me a message and tell me how you like them apples, and I will include it one of my next blogs.

Wearing a Maid of Honor dress that very well makes the South want to rise again; Jess Reynolds is prepared to walk down the aisle at her best friend's wedding. It's just that things keep getting in the way, like a sex-crazed coworker, an annoying brother-of-the-bride, and a handsome and horribly charming friend posing as the Best Man. As it turns out, Jess might just be the last one to know everything, including the workings of her own heart.

My opinion:

This book was really charming. I loved the characters and laughed out loud often. It is your typical romance formula as far as the plot goes but do not let this deter you from reading it. I give this book 4 out of 5 apples.

Here is a little about the author:

Crystal Bowling was born in a small Kentucky town. She grew up and went to college in only a slightly larger town. She writes, sings badly, and wonders if liking coffee is something that happens when you turn 40. You can catch up with Crystal at her blog (crystalbooksit.wordpress.com) and on Twitter (@crystalbooksit). You can find out more about book updates by checking out Crystal's author page on Facebook (facebook.com/pages/Crystal-Bowling/263805270299916).

What Delaney wants...

...is a baby. A baby of her own. At thirty, she longs to break away from the constraints of her life. Longs to reach out for her heart's desire. She'd prefer marriage as well, but there's no man in Dundee, Idaho, she's interested in marrying.

Then one winter night she and her best friend, Rebecca, go to Boise with the intent of finding a man for Delaney. She meets a handsome stranger named Conner, a man who might be able to provide her with the solution she needs...and the baby she wants!

Afterward she thinks she must have been out of her mind. But it's too late. Because she's pregnant. And because the stranger isn't a stranger anymore. Conner Armstrong is now living on a ranch just outside Dundee.

My Opinion:

At first I did not think I would like this book, simply because it was not something I would normally read.  But since I am not one to dismiss a book purely on the “it is not my genre notion”, I read it. I am so glad that I did. I found the book was wonderful and easy to follow. I actually found myself rooting for the characters in the end. I give this 4 out of 5 apples.

A little about the author:

Normally I would give you a little about the author from the Amazon page, but it appears Ms. Novak does not have anything in that section.

Cake maker and single mom Claudia Bradley thinks she has life all figured out -- until her best friend Nate starts looking like a mouth-watering dessert and her son's father comes strolling back into the picture as if he'd never left ten years ago. Throw in a case of preteen angst and a family with lots of well-meant advice, and, well, she's whipping up a recipe for chaos!

Nate West has always been there for Claudia, a basic ingredient in her life, but suddenly she is flirting outrageously with him when she's never looked that way at him before -- despite his dreams. With her ex-lover back in town, Nate isn't about to renege on his years-old promise to always be the friend Claudia needs, but does she want more?

She's as tempting as butter cream frosting with sprinkles, and he's mighty tempted...

My opinion:

I fell in love in this book.  I mean it! I know it’s only a book, but I wanted Nate to be my love from the very beginning of the book. It is your typical “OMG are you blind” book where the heroin doesn’t seem to see what everyone else sees in the book. This book had sprinkles for me.  So I have rated it 5 out of 5 apples. (With sprinkles)

About the Author:

It appears Ms. Simon also doesn’t have an author section set up, I apologize.

Book One in the Serenity Series.

Caught in a violent and abusive relationship, Serenity thinks there is no escape. On the day she fears her life can get no worse, she meets a stranger, Sebastian, who shows her the possibility of a different future.

Only Sebastian has a dark secret; he is a vampire.

As Serenity's life takes a terrifying turn, she finds herself drawn into a world she never knew existed; one of murder, love and immortality. She is forced to confront her own weaknesses to save both her own life and that of the vampire she has come to love. But in the end all that matters is; can she find the strength to be Alone?

My Opinion:

OHHHHH! I went on an adventure in this book. I loved it enough that I will actively be trying to buy or borrow the other three books that are currently out in this series. I do not want to give away a whole lot about the book so I will as usual keep this very short. I felt sorry for both the hero and the heroin in this book. That is unusual for me, normally it is all about the pity that the poor heroine needs and how the big bad strong hero comes in and swoops down to save the day. Let’s just say that did not happen here. I would give this book more than 5 apples but since that is the highest on this scale I can’t.

About the author:

Again my apologies as this author appears to have not made an author page on Amazon.com.  This made me sad as I would have really liked to have known more about her.

A New Adult Contemporary

(NOT appropriate for younger readers)

Marlo (Lola) La Pointe works as an assistant to her brother's band, Pleasure Pointe. Tobias, the hard living lead singer, is intrigued by her, but they don't get along. This situation changes when he must come to Marlo's rescue, and prove his bravery. As Marlo joins the band on the road, she is forced to make some life changing decisions. Could one of them involve Tobias?

*Note from Author: This newly revised edition contains corrections of previous grammatical errors. I sincerely appreciate any feedback from readers, as it is my goal to produce the best book possible. Thank you for your interest, and hope you enjoy the new, improved version of Under Her Skin.

My Opinion:

I was not really sure about this book because of the author note, but I did not let it deter me from reading this book, and you should not let it either. I loved this book, it rocked! It rocked in more ways than one. I have a brand new love for the old saying “if the trailer is rocking doesn’t bother knocking” in this case though it is the bus, the hotel, the bedroom, etc…  I loved the main character and the author’s knowledge of music kept me fascinated. Yes I was one of those girls that had an obsession with rock stars as a teen. I am giving this book 5 out of 5 very steamy apples.

About the author:

Again, I apologize. The author it appears has not set up an author page on Amazon.com.
