I am convinced that there are some authors that can do anything inside of their writing. they are few and far between but those few I am honored to read are Superhero Storytellers. Lynne Cantwell is one of those authors.
About the author:
Lynne Cantwell has been writing fiction since
the second grade, when the kid who sat in front of her showed her a book he had
written, and she thought, "I could do that." The result was Susie and the Talking Doll, a picture
book illustrated by the author about a girl who owned a doll that not only
could talk, but could carry on conversations. The book had dialogue but no
paragraph breaks. Today, after a twenty-year career in broadcast journalism and
a master's degree in fiction writing from Johns Hopkins University (or perhaps
despite the master's degree), Lynne is still writing fantasy. In addition, she
is a contributing author at Indies Unlimited and writes a monthly post for The
Indie Exchange.

Her books are filled with many myths and lore known by some of the best storytellers in the world.
Native Americans are among the top storytellers in the world in my personal opinion.
Now let's talk about Gravid before the next book comes out. Which I am eagerly anticipating to be just as, if not better than this one. The first two pages are a summary of what happened in the last three books. This is wonderful for me and one of the things I often complain about especially as an avid reader. I often get my books second hand, from friends or online. Sometimes those books are part of a series and every now and then the previous books are not available. Having that short summary that just catches the reader up on the previous books helps a lot.
I can't really tell what happens in this book without giving so much of it away, I will however tell you that I was happy all the way to my toes when I read this book. I even read it twice! That is a very rare thing for me and usually only for authors like Molly Harper, Chloe Neill, Kim Richardson, etc...
Welcome to the repeat club with books so good they earn a repeat read. I love all the characters in this book, even the ones that I hate. I found it hard to put down and even harder to resist picking back up when I had work to do. My advice is if you haven't picked up a novel by Lynne Cantwell, that you run right over to Amazon now and get them, trust me you will love them.
I rated Gravid by Lynne Cantwell 5 out of 5!

Synopsis:
Darkness stalks seventeen-year-old Sam Harper. Ten years ago on Halloween night, she and her best friend Elliot were snatched by grotesque creatures and Sam narrowly escaped with her life. Now a decade on, the police investigation has ground to a halt and Elliot's whereabouts remains a mystery.
Traumatized by her ordeal, Sam finds it hard to make friends. She is mistrustful of authority and changed schools more times than she cares to remember. To Sam, the world is cruel and unforgiving. Then she meets the enigmatic Lee Weaver. With his gorgeous face and magnetic presence, he turns heads wherever he goes. Sam has never wanted anyone as much as she wants Lee, but there are things about the alluring stranger that don't add up, leading Sam to ask unsettling questions about her past. Soon she discovers the boy of her dreams is keeping a terrible secret: one that threatens to destroy everything Sam holds dear ...
My review:
This is a really great story. I was catapulted into it from the very first sentence and as the story grew my impatience to find out what happened next grew as well. Sam is really great character and was easy for me to identify with. Lee is the boy of her dreams and it didn't take me long to figure out what his secret was. The best part of about the secret though was not finding out what it was ( at least for me) it was how Sam reacted and dealt with it. I rated this a 5 out of 5 because it was a fantastic read and I would recommend it to my friends who like to read paranormal books about things that are difficult to explain.

Childhood
Nightmares: My Top Five Scariest Kids Movies
Hello everybody! My name is Tanith Morse
and I’m the author of paranormal romance trilogy Super Dark. First up, a lot of people have asked me what the book
title means. To clarify, Super Dark
is a slang term meaning ‘to possess dark gothic qualities.’ This perfectly
describes the stories I write. The Super Dark trilogy has elements of romance,
mystery and horror and is populated by a cast of morally ambiguous characters. The
dark side of the human psyche is a running theme throughout my stories. My
interest in the dark and gothic began when I was a child. I loved being
frightened and my favorite films were the ones with vampires, witches and
werewolves. So without further ado, here are my top five scariest kids movies
and why I love them.
- The Witches (1990) – This fine adaptation of a Roald Dahl classic starring Angelica Houston is one of the scariest movies ever committed to film. It has all the elements of a first rate children’s thriller and the scene where Angelica takes off her mask is the stuff of nightmares!
- Gremlins (1984) – This Joe Dante classic ranks as one of my all-time favorites. It has all the perfect ingredients of a horror film and the gremlins are the nastiest little creatures ever dreamt up by a movie studio. The scariest scene takes place in the kitchen and involves a microwave. The less said the better, lol!
- Beetle Juice (1988) – This early Tim Burton movie is an absolute corker. I love Michael Keaton as Beetle Juice and his scenes with a young Winona Ryder are amazing. The story is a perfect blend of horror, romance and black humor – classic Tim Burton. I have watched this so many times I’ve lost count. If you haven’t seen it, I highly recommend that you do.
- Ghostbusters (1984) – One of the best films ever made. Yes, some of the special effects may look a little dated now, but this is still a first class thrill ride. The dynamic between Bill Murray, Dan Ackroyd and company is second to none and the scenes involving Dana’s possession are pretty freaky even by today’s standards. This is a movie I will return to again and again.
- The Monster Squad (1987) – My family used to own this on video and my brothers watched it so many times the tape wore out. This cult kid’s movie involves Dracula trying to take over the world and features a cast of legendary monsters including Frankenstein, Werewolf and the Creature from the Black Lagoon. This little seen film deserves more exposure so if you haven’t seen it, you’re really missing out. Monster Squad rocks!

Synopsis:
Pretty and Pregnant By Madison Johns
Kimberly Steele wasn’t like most women who were six months pregnant. She wore one form fitting pink ensemble after the next with sky-high heels, much to the chagrin of her boss, the sexy attorney Jeremy Preston. What did he care what she wore? All she knew was that she needed to keep her secret about who the baby’s daddy really is and where he is now.
Jeremy couldn’t believe any man would leave a woman as beautiful as Kimberly high and dry just because she was pregnant. He admired Kimberly for her decision to go it alone and keep the baby, versus making a choice that she’d later regret. One of the reasons he couldn’t stop himself from being attracted to her.
One fateful day it all changed for her when Clive Baxter offered her the chance to become the new spokes model for his latest perfume line, Pretty and Pregnant. Soon Kimberly had to deal with signing a contract and fighting her attraction to Jeremy.
My review:
Having read another book by Madison Johns I was excited to hear she had a novella. I was not disappointed. The story was really good. I was sad when it was over. Other than a few minor typo's my only complaint was the length of it. The characters were enjoyable although I will fully admit that her leading man made me wary in the beginning, but again this could have been fleshed out more. In the end I was happy with the story and the characters. Madison Johns has the ability to tell a story with humor and love that makes you yearn for just a bit more. It is worth the 99 cents she charges for it. I give Pretty and Pregnant a solid 4 out of 5 apples!

About the Author:
Amazon bestseller ~ Armed and Outrageous.
Author Madison Johns early days weren't spent writing -- they were spent dreaming. Her vivid imagination ran wild and took her places only dreams could. She read books, tons of books, they were her only friends. As a child, Madison Johns preferred to distance herself from other children her age, and had been described as a dreamer. Even as a small child, she remembers staying awake many a night fighting dragons, whisked away to foreign lands, or meeting the man of her dreams. She was a voracious reader of historical romance in her teen years and has always wished to one day journey to England, France, Ireland, and Scotland
The
writing bug bit her at the age of 44 and she pounded out four books
since that time. As the publishing climate changed she took a risk and
decided to self publish, first a collection of two horror short stories
geared for YA, Coffin Tales Season of Death.
Madison's caring nature had led her to work in the healthcare field, where she was employed as a nursing care assistant at a nursing home, and it was there that she was inspired to write her first mystery, Armed and Outrageous, introducing amateur detective, Agnes Barton. The book depicts two elderly ladies digging up clues with enough laugh out loud antics to make James Bond blush.
In late April of 2012 she released her first novel, Armed and Outrageous, and in September while doing a free run on Amazon, Armed and Outrageous, went to #1 for free! The following month her book co-existed alongside the Stephanie Plum series for paid in the humor category!

I love bacon!
I especially love bacon that is unsweetened or uncured. I love love love salty bacon. I have a love for beef jerky too!
Usually teriyaki flavor but I when I saw bacon jerky in the grocery story I was extremely excited. Salty and sweet bacon in a chewy jerky, Oh heck yeah I was all for it.
I came home and sat down at my desk, not even waiting to put away the groceries before ripping the package open. I looked inside and saw the bacon and thought "this looks like microwave bacon". I was not happy, I hate microwave bacon. What I hate worse than microwave bacon is cold bacon that has grease congealed on it. Even worse then that apparently I hate bacon jerky.
I was so disappointed. I had such high hopes that this jerky would be thick and chewy with the right amount of flavoring. You know smoky and salty with just a smidge of maple flavor dried into it. What I got was a bunch of gooey microwave bacon with no flavor dumped in a bag. I could have bought microwave bacon for a dollar at the same store, but nope I bought a bag of it for almost five bucks.
At least the dogs got a treat. I won't buy it again and I do not recommend it to anyone else. It is a huge giant rip off!

I am the child's face in a world full of adults, that want answers to a test they know I can't pass.
I sit with emotions locked in a race to see the end of my pain, like a child in school waiting for the last bell to ring before summer vacation.
I am the dreamer that lives in a nightmare, where everything is going wrong and that only when I sleep do I feel the love and peace I long for.
In a world filled to the brim with people celebrating and happy, all I want to do is stand on top of the tallest building with the biggest megaphone and scream STOP!
I want them to know the pain I am in and to see who she was and how important she has been to our lives.
I watch my children crumble around me in pain and I can do nothing, because I am stuck in that same hurricane force tunnel of sadness.
You reap what you sow, is an old saying but I would like to know what I sowed in my life to deserve to reap the loss of two children in less than a months time.
I want to know what I sowed to have my car stolen, to lose benefits, to lose everything.
I want to know what I sowed to have someone siphon our gas while we are in the emergency room.
I want to know what I sowed to feel this pain.
The unfairness is killing me and I search my children's faces and know that I have no answer.
That I cannot wipe away their tears because I have not figured out how to wipe my own.
That I cannot wipe away their tears because I have not figured out how to wipe my own.
I feel useless and meaningless, unimportant and weak.
I want to scream and cry and bash my head into the brick facade of this house.
I want to burn it down and start over somewhere else.
Instead I am sorting through belongings and deciding which memories can't be saved.
I am sorting through little socks and shoes from a child that never got to walk in them.
Smelling stuffed animals and blankets daily to save her smell.
I do it all day every day for fear that I will forget what she smelled like and it is a memory I cannot get again.
That smell is in ashes now, in a plain white paupers box, because we are to poor to afford the lavish ceramic and metal urns the funeral home provided.
They were so cold to us, they cared nothing about the fact that we lost a child, only that their dime be paid.
There was no discussion, like we were not worthy of a discussion or of the compassion that one needs to show to a grieving family.
I want to yell that I am in my own private hell, that the sun should not shine, the world should not go on every day as if she did not matter.
I want her to matter.
I want her story told.
I am going to tell it.
No one deserves what she got or how we all still have to live with it.
