Today I start my participation in the Wicked Wildfire readathon! I have decided to set myself up with the goal of reading at least two books a day. I know that I can read a lot more during a day but two seems to be the best way for me to get into a decent reading pattern. The past few months I have been packing in book after book with no rhythm.

This blog post will be one that reappears as the readathon is going on. My goal is to update everyday with each book I have finished, rate it and leave a short opinion. So while this post may seem short right now, trust me it will get longer!

In the top left hand corner is the widget that you can click if you want to join in on the fun of reading with us! They are even having give-a ways so check them out and come play with us!

6/7/2013 books:

Fatshionista by Vanessa McKnight
Rating- 5out of 5 Because it was flipping fantastic! I prefer to read paranormal or fantasy romances but thought the synopsis sounded funny so I grabbed it! I laughed, fell in love and even teared up a little in this book. I love that the heroine is not a size 0, but a girl with curves! I even convinced one of my friends to get it and it is on the free list right now too! Freaking fatabulous!

Through the Wall by Keri Ford
Rating 5 out of 5 because it was hot enough to give me blisters! You have to read it to understand the blisters comment and I recommend it you want a short sexy read. From beginning to end I found myself fighting for both of the main characters and anxiously awaiting for them to figure things out! Loved the book and hope other will read it and love it too!

Billionaire's Defiant Mistress by Heather Longton

Rating 3 out of 5!
I love the story concept and even understand why I felt so cold and unfeeling towards the hero until the very end. I honestly couldn't stand him at all the majority of the story. My one and only complaint about this book is a huge one, so huge that I deducted two points from my rating.  The two main characters of the book are from vastly different class systems and background. The hero is from a different country completely and the heroine is from a small country town in England. Their speech and mannerisms should be hugely different. Unfortunately this author wrote as if they were both highly educated, neither character using slang or words that would be used commonly by not only their geographical and class difference but their ages as well. Verbally she put them on equal ground but kept telling us how they were so vastly different.

What Stays In Vegas by Beth Labonte

Rating 4 out of 5
I loved this quirky book! It was funny and kept my attention. For the most part I found that I identified with the heroine. I loved the romance and way it was not the focus of the book but enough of the story that you knew this was a romance. My only complaint that I can count off of my rating for was the back and forth the character seemed to have. Part of the time she seemed more adult and stuffy and the other half of the time she seemed young and naive. It confused me honestly. As far as the personal issue that I cannot count off on was the obvious cheating present by the married man, I hate that having been cheated on myself I know how awful it feels to be the other woman. Other than those two issues I will recommend this as a read for someone that wants a quirky fast paced romance.

Pretending He's Mine by Lauren Blakely

Rating 5 out of 5
Whew! Get the hose out because this Momma got a hot flash from reading this novel. If I could rate it higher than a 5 I would and it would deserve every bit of that rating. Crazy casting director hires the hot guy (who secretly sports more than a crush on her) to be her fake fiance. There was steam and blushing and fire and passion beyond what I was expecting from reading the synopsis. Stick a fork in me because Momma is so closing the blinds and taking Daddy to bed!

Watch Me Walk Away by Jill Prand

Rating 5 out of 5!
I was easily sucked into the story and fell in love with the characters. I wanted a happy ending for everyone but alas that is not always possible. I am hoping in the next book that the poor soul that had a crappy ending gets the love he deserves. I recommend this to all of you that like a good romance now and then!

Truth or Date by Susan Hatler

Rating 4 out of 5!
Yummy! A wonderful play on an old game we played as teens in the hopes that someone would make us kiss someone else, yeah it still works on grown ups. I loved this romantic novel and will look for more her work to read.

Black Lace by J.V.K.

Rating 2 out of 5!
This had holes and typos and plethora of other issues. Reading it felt like reading a rough first draft instead of a polished novel. I won't even get into the flow of the story that I would have needed a pie chart, flow chart and a map to figure out. That is all I am going to say. It needs editing and rewriting to make it the book that it can be.

Final update and wrap up.

I have read a total of 18 books this week including beta reading. I only went over my goal by four, so I think that is good.  I hope everyone else is doing well. The books I have that are not included on this blog post will have reviews up on here next week. Hugs everyone! I had a blast!

So far so good. Lol I am finished two yesterday and beta read 3 short anthologies by the end of the day. I already have one book down for the day and have started my second book. I speed read and tend to overwhelm myself. I am trying not to overwhelm myself lol.
